Hello everyone,
As we move into the summer diving season here in the northern hemisphere, we would like to remind all members to periodically review SUBNOTE on our website for any notifications or operational information that may be pertinent to your planned dive activities.
In particular, if you are conducting operations within USCG jurisdictions, we ask that you review and voluntarily comply with SUBNOTE-2026-1 by submitting the requested information to the appropriate local USCG station as part of your normal dive planning procedures. Please keep in mind that submitting this information is not a request for permission and should not be interpreted as such. It is simply a voluntary notification intended to provide the Coast Guard with a basic operational awareness should Search and Rescue resources ever need to be implemented.
While participation in the SUBNOTE system is entirely voluntary, we strongly encourage member cooperation. Since the TITAN accident, PSUBS has worked diligently to demonstrate that the personal submersible community is capable of operating responsibly, safely, and transparently without the need for unnecessary regulatory restrictions. Our collective participation in simple initiatives such as SUBNOTE helps reinforce that message and benefits the entire community.
Thank you all for your continued professionalism, cooperation, and commitment to safe diving operations.
