 I've tried a few times over the years to include a bulletin board type forum on our website.  It never got a lot of use because at the time people found the email list more convenient however it may have a use as an intermediate mechanism for sharing photos in an easy to upload-easy to share format.  I wouldn't expect it to compete with FB but it would provide a way to share photos and videos posted on FB with those that choose not to frequent FB.
For those that prefer FB, it would be nice to have a couple of people volunteer to manage the PSUBS page.  Looking for some folks to raise their hand.

Although my relatives in Argentina use it, and some in the UK.

Signal is a better alternative (by a non-profit group), but it's hard persuading 100s of people to switch to it.

Recently I’ve noticed a third alternative seems to be gaining traction, and it’s one I use myself and absolutely love. Outside the US, virtually everyone I know uses WhatsApp. You can use it to make phone calls, but for the purpose of this discussion the functionality to use would be an ongoing discussion thread. You can attach anything, images, video, etc. A lot of people use it with audio recordings, rather than tapping out a message. I have two such groups, which are both very active; one for family (I’ve 15 first cousins) and another for high school friends. It’s so convenient, I hardly use FB at all. And all my phone or video calls with anyone outside the US are WhatsApp calls.
