We can build it sufficiently around the European event, that's not an issue.  Maybe end of June?  Or October.

Jon, Thanks for the update. Here is my input : )

A non-diving convention (tech presentations & social activities) would still have value in my opinion. Seems like there have been several diving opportunities in the past few years but not so much on the technical presentation front.

I am interested in attending.  Let me know how I can assist.

also, I (maybe others?) am planning on attending the European convention this year so it would be nice if the dates didn't conflict.

Steve

Yes, we should have one this year.
This has been on my mind so a good nudge to get us discussing it.  Last summer Cliff and I had started talking about another convention in the Keys.  With two expeditions completed and a number of projects coming to term there is a lot of information we can sure.  However, we are highly dependent upon the Suhrs for diving purposes in the Keys and were notified in October that unforeseen circumstances would prevent them from being in the Keys for most of the year.
We could have a non-diving convention with static displays here in the Keys (or somewhere else), or try to set up a diving convention at another location.  For sure, we have plenty of material for at least one day of technical presentations.
Suggestions?
