I was hoping to have made the last one and give a presentation on the Q-Sub<br>
but had an electrical incident Dec 2nd. Still just sorting it as it was a<br>
major and had to repair replace all 11 motors controllers plus the Engine<br>
controls due to CAN system being spiked. Was really gutted and took me<br>
three months just to get my head around the rebuild. Poor design allowed it<br>
to happen and inexperienced Tech. I was 2 days from putting it in the water<br>
tank for testing.<br>

Jon, count me in.<br>

Last week, I was in San Diego helping Justin Helland complete a successful<br>
dunk test for Toto. During our off?time, Justin and I visited several<br>
potential sites that would be involved if a Psub convention were held in San<br>
Diego. We looked at multiple ramp locations, conference rooms for<br>
presentations, and housing options on Vacation Island in Mission Bay.<br>
Everything looked excellent.<br>
<br>
Each ramp we evaluated could launch at least five boats at a time, which<br>
means no pressure from other boaters and plenty of room to work safely.<br>
There?s also some great stuff to see in the area, including the Star III<br>
manned submersible, which now sits as a static display in front of the Birch<br>
Aquarium at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in La Jolla, California.<br>
<br>
For those bringing spouses, Balboa Park offers a lot to explore, including<br>
several very good museums.<br>
<br>
I will be there and would be glad to make a presentation. Nailing down<br>
completion dates for Psubs is notoriously difficult, but I will make every<br>
effort to bring the R400. Eight months ? the clock is ticking. I need to get<br>
back to my shop.<br>
With any luck, we can get over to the?Scripps Institution for a tour.<br>
