I started not applying so much pressure but then I start to get an actual visual build up of wax which is not really glossy and it doesn't seem right. I think you might be right on the chemical reaction, at first I though it was because the resin was too thick and hence created more heat in the very bottom of the mold but when I went back and looked at the deformed areas it was not really at the bottom but on the sides. Luckily I was able to easily remove everything from the mold no problem.
