It was In Ft.Lauderdale at the Grand Prix Race-O-Rama park. Direct on the
I-95

I manage to go in in 1999 and will post some more picture of the inside of
the submarine

on the ongoing facebook discussion side about the boat.

Yes the inside was rusty - but complete.

Its a double hull boat with the dive tanks between the both Pressure hulls
- with no acess

The big front windows were later add - to make underwater movies from there
- but a bad construction for a submarine window.

Wonderful film! I do think that's definitely the same boat. which got
cosmetic changes for a movie years after that film was shot. She was parked
in an amusement park by the side of I-95 just North of Miami in the 90s,
and I used to drive by there weekly on my way to a client site. Naturally I
pulled over and went over to take a look. The hatch was padlocked but one
could peer through the viewports. I recall the interior being a rusty mess,
and that was thirty years ago. She was a rusty mess on the outside as well.
Just the sheer scale of the restoration project, and particularly the
logistical challenges of moving her about, would be overwhelming. The idea
might capture the imagination, but would capture your wallet even worse!

That is really cool! I agree, I would love to see more photos of it. A
quick google came up with this really cool video, I don't think it's the
same boat but it's built by the same guy and looks similar:

No Joke - I don’t think that would be allowed on our municipal
streets - there is a weight limit in spring after thawing.
        Beautiful boat!
        I’ll pitch in!
        Best regards,

Hey guys, this is why we need a small manned submarine
              museum.

The vessel is located in Asheboro NC and being auctioned this
weekend. According to Busby, SUBMANAUT was built by Edmund
Martine and launched in 1956. Weight: 50 tons, Length: 43
feet, Beam: 10.75 feet, Height: 16 feet, Draft: 9 feet. It
could carry six occupants to 600 feet.

Maybe we direct Dan Lance to go up there and buy
              it??------------------------------------------------------------
