She was parked in an amusement park by the side of I-95 just North of Miami in the 90s, and I used to drive by there weekly on my way to a client site. Naturally I pulled over and went over to take a look. The hatch was padlocked but one could peer through the viewports. I recall the interior being a rusty mess, and that was thirty years ago. She was a rusty mess on the outside as well. Just the sheer scale of the restoration project, and particularly the logistical challenges of moving her about, would be overwhelming. The idea might capture the imagination, but would capture your wallet even worse! Yes the inside was rusty - but complete.
