I had to purchase another Minn-Kota motor and they don't have the model I bought years ago when Jon made an order for the three of us, a saltwater riptide 101, It has been replaced by a unit that is 4.5" in diameter instead of 4" and the stub up that has the female threads is now in the middle of the housing. I bought it from the same place Jon got our "Northland Marine" and they quoted a little over $500 but he still honored our Psubs discount which brought it down to $405. There are pros and cons with living in Hawaii as the shipping to get it here was $225! Oh well. Unfortunately I now have to re fab a unit that will hold the thruster as well as my steering linkage. Keeps me out of trouble. Rick -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... But it?s a good point, it might be worth investigating what other motors are out there and usable for psubs On Thu, Aug 13, 2026 at 5:33?PM Rick Patton via Personal_Submersibles < personal_submersibles at psubs.org> wrote: > Just a heads up. The updated model is 112 pound thrust instead of 101, and the cost has gone way up.? Sounds like they took care of you on the price, although I would note that TrollingMotorParts.com lists the 112 lower unit at $440 retail and not $500.? We did our group purchase of 101 lower units quite a few years ago and paid $250 each for them, as I recall.? Sorry you have to refab to make the new units work Rick.? I will run into the same issue at some point. Jon On Thursday, August 13, 2026 at 11:08:03 PM EDT, Rick Patton via Personal_Submersibles wrote: Just a heads up.
