Jon, count me in.

Last week, I was in San Diego helping Justin Helland complete a successful dunk test for Toto. During our off‑time, Justin and I visited several potential sites that would be involved if a Psub convention were held in San Diego. We looked at multiple ramp locations, conference rooms for presentations, and housing options on Vacation Island in Mission Bay. Everything looked excellent.

Each ramp we evaluated could launch at least five boats at a time, which means no pressure from other boaters and plenty of room to work safely. There’s also some great stuff to see in the area, including the Star III manned submersible, which now sits as a static display in front of the Birch Aquarium at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in La Jolla, California.

For those bringing spouses, Balboa Park offers a lot to explore, including several very good museums.

I will be there and would be glad to make a presentation. Nailing down completion dates for Psubs is notoriously difficult, but I will make every effort to bring the R400. Eight months — the clock is ticking. I need to get back to my shop.
With any luck, we can get over to the Scripps Institution for a tour.

 Hello folks,

We are looking for your input regarding PC2027 in San Diego, California.  Mid-January is their slow season and offers relatively reasonable lodging rates, unlike what we experienced in Islamorada this year.  For planning purposes, January is pretty much just around the corner so would you please respond so we can gauge interest.

Will you attend in person?

Will you give a technical or project presentation?

Please respond to this list.  If you are really shy, send me an email at jon.wallace at yahoo.com

Thanks,
Jon
