[PSUBS-MAILIST] Licenses for Submarines?

Hey everyone,

I'm friends with Shanee and am planning to help her with her sub.

In California, there are currently no licenses required to operate a boat.   

The only thing required is that the vessel be registered with either the Coast Guard or the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Can you guys please let us know if there is anything different required to own and operate a submarine?
